One of Gov. Manchin's favorite pasttimes is exploring the West Virginia countryside
on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Not only are motorcycles fuel-efficient,
they are one of the best ways to get from one small town to the next on the
state's world-famous country roads. Today, the governor visits Benjy's Harley-Davidson
museum in Huntington. The museum features an impressive collection of Harley-Davidson
bikes from their first decade to today, and admission is free!

For anyone interested in the growth of technology, 20th century history, broadcast news or electronic communications, the Museum of Radio and Technology in Huntington is a fascinating must-see. Perhaps the most amazing thing about this impressive collection of radios and broadcast equipment from the 20th century onward is that it's operated entirely by volunteers.
Gov. Manchin uncovers the old transmitter from the radio station he grew up listening to -- Fairmont's WMMN. He also finds out how vinyl records were cut and gets a look at the predecessor to today's Macintosh computer -- the Apple Lisa, circa 1983.

Don't let its name deceive you. The Heritage Farm Museum and Village is not a building or field full of rusting farm implements. It's an entire campus of 19th and 20th century buildings loaded with interactive exhibits and artifacts that tell the story of how hearty West Virginians devised innovative ways to make life on the farm and in the mountains easier. Museum owner Mike Perry has built this collection to give today's Appalachian children pride in their ancestors, who learned how to make a living in our rugged countryside. Guests at the museum can stay at one of the B&Bs on the farm or even get married in the village church.
Gov. Manchin looks at a classic Ford Model-T and discovers an electric car (yes, electric!) from the early-1900s. Afterward, he tests out a rocking chair on the front porch of a log cabin.
